James R. DeVilliers of Coffeyville died Monday, December 17, 2007 in Coffeyville. He was 73. James was born on July 9, 1934 to Cecil and Lulu Rochelle DeVilliers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James served in the United States Army. He married Patsy Duvall on June 23, 1963 in Coffeyville at the First Assembly of God Church. James owned and operated a newspaper business for 21 years. Later, he was a self-employed caterer and drove the Roach Coach for 18 years. James enjoyed fishing, cooking outdoors, and playing board games. Most of all he enjoyed people. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patsy; daughters, Debbie DeVilliers of Azle, Texas, Donna Faupel and husband, Ken, of Stewartville, Minnesota and Sandi Rich and husband, Elgin, of Chickasaw, Oklahoma; brother, Henry DeVilliers of Hobbs New Mexico; sisters ,Dorothy Baker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dianne DeVilliers of Coos Bay, Oregon and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Brother James Wright and Reverend Bill Long will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wuf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
