James Carl Thuma 1936 - 2005 James Carl Thuma, age 68, Wann, Oklahoma resident, passed away at his resident Sunday, March 6, 2005 early evening. He was born on June 11, 1936 in Glendale, Arizona to Frank Freeman and Francis Louise Banks Thuma. He was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. He attended Glendale Grammar Elementary School. He was a 1956 graduate of Glendale High School. In 1972 He graduated from Coffeyville Community College. Mr. Thuma joined the US Army. He served from October 21, 1957 - October 20, 1963. He was honorable discharged with the rank Corporal E-4. He also served with the National Guard of Cherryvale, Kansas. He was employed with Western Publishing, Amera Sign Company and the Bartlett Flour all of Coffeyville. He was also self employedowneroperator as a Automotive Mechanic at his resident until his failing health. His hobbies included Racing Micro Midgets and working on cars. On August 25, 1969 he married Katherine L. Headley in Erie, Kansas . She survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, James Carl Thuma II, Joplin, MO Randy Harris, Richland Hills, TX John Harris, Independence, KS Five Daughters, Cynthia Jackson, Washburn, MO Benita Thuma-Nolan, Cougar, WA Crystal White, Coffeyville, KS Donna Miller, Chanute, KS Katrina Thuma, Wann, OK One Brother, Frank Thuma, Huntington, VA Two Sisters, Jeanette Harvey, Long Seal, CA Patricia Jacobson, Sun River, Utah Twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren Mr. Thuma was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford, Wulf, Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.
