Janet Mae Poage, 80, formerly of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Bradford Village Nursing Home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Janet was born on January 30, 1932 in rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma to Andrew and Hazel Towle Henry. She grew up in the South Coffeyville area where she received her High School education. In 1957 she married Howard Dale Poage. The couple made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fairland, Oklahoma in 1990 Janet settled in Edmond, Oklahoma. Janet bowled on several leagues in Edmond for many years. She enjoyed gardening and maintaining her yard. She loved reading, horses, and playing SkipBo. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Surviving to honor her memory are her daughters, Vicky Simon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sandra Buresh Brad of Edmond, Oklahoma brothers, Marvin Flanders Myrte of Coffeyville, KS Harold Henry Mildredof Nowata, OK Roscoe Henry Beverly of South Coffeyville, OK Carl Henry Connie of South Coffeyville, OK grandchildren, Nicole Burman and Rori Buresh of Edmond, OK Jessica Perry of Frisco, TX greatgrandchildren, Ryan, Adison and Haylen Sokolosky of Frisco, TX Kyle and Chase Tinlin of Lumberton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hazel loving husband, Howard brother, Richard Henry and grandson, Travis Perry. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. A family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Altamont, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Association these may be left with the funeral home.
