Janice Ritchie

Janice Rae Ritchie at the age of 69 passed away on May 31, 2021 at Diversa Care of Sedgewick in Sedgewick, Kansas.

Janice was born on October 29, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Jay and Shirley “Jean” (Shultz) Ritchie.  She resided in Coffeyville until a recent illness.   Janice married Floyd Deacon Sr. and of that union they had 2 children together.  The couple later divorced.  Janice worked many years in restaurant management in California and before retirement she was a guard at a correctional facility in Texas.  Janice loved her dogs; Peanut and Lucky and enjoyed eating jellybeans and drinking Mountain Dew.

Janice is survived by her children, Brenda Comstock (Dustin Green) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Floyd Deacon (Brenda) of Wetmore, Kansas; one grandson, Cody Eash of Lawrence; step siblings, Joe Webb, Debbie Webb, Paula Shaw and Kristi Webb.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jay and Jean Ritchie; brother David Ritchie and sister Carla Mavers.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10:30 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.  Janice will be laid to rest by her parents and Pastor Randy De Priest will officiate.  To leave an online condolence visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
