Janie Farris

Janie E. Farris age, 58, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the FordWulfBruns Chapel with the Pastor Richard Peckman officiating. The family has suggested memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals or the St. Pauls Lutheran Church and contributions may be left at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.

Janie Elizabeth Farris was born October 26, 1953 in Independence, Kansas to James F. Jr. and Phoebe Darbe Drake. The family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1956 and Janie attended the Coffeyville School System.

On March 6, 1971 Janie married Evi Long Jr. in Coffeyville, Kansas where the couple made their home. The couple later divorced. Janie worked at Walmart, the Coffeyville School System and Windsor place in Maintenance. Janie later married Sam Batman and the couple later divorced. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her mother Phoebe Drake of Coffeyville, Kansas one daughter Jamie Batman of Des Moines, Iowa one sister Dianna McDonnell of Wichita, Kansas and one brother Dennis Lee Drake of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father, James Darbe, grandparents Ben Everyl Darbe, James Ethel Drake and one sister Marsha Brown.
