Jennie Mae McCall, 91, of Neodesha, Kansas died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at St. Johns Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Jennie Mae Menefee was born April 21, 1915 to Earl C. and Opal L. Bevis Menefee in Lexington, Missouri. She was a 1932 graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School. She worked in the family grocery business. She also attended business college and worked as an accountant at Union Traction Company in Coffeyville, Kansas. She married Thomas Rawleigh McCall on January 13, 1950 in Bartlesville, OK. They made their home in rural South Coffeyville, OK until 1963 when they moved to Veith Cattle Ranch in Iroquois, South Dakota. They lived there until 1971 when they moved to Kingfisher, OK. In 1979 they moved to Tyro, KS and in 1999 to Dearing, KS. In 2005, Jennie moved to Neodesha, KS after the death of her husband. Jennie remained a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, solitaire, scrabble and spending time with family. She was a member of the Tyro Christian Church and in later years enjoyed listening to Sunday church services on audio cassette tapes. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fesler and husband, Jack, of rural Coffeyville; son, Thomas Max McCall and wife, Ruth, of Neodesha; one sister, Juanita Yeubanks of Overland Park, KS; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many other family members living in or around Coffeyville, KS. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas R. McCall; three bothers Frank, Laverne and Denzil Menefee. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 in Fairview Cemetery in the Veterans Memorial Patio under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Mote of Tyro Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Coffeyville Public Library or the Tyro Christian Church Building Fund. These can be left with the funeral home.
