Jewell Blickensderfer

Jewell Wynnie Blickensderfer, 94, passed away Monday, September 19, 2005, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born March 3, 1911, the first of seven children of Thomas and Tina Wynn of Hartville, Mo. After finishing nurses training she worked as an RN at the Navajo Indian Reservation, Tuba City, Arizona. She returned to Lebanon, Mo where she married Wills Blickensderfer on August 25, 1939 and moved to Coffeyville in 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and her husband Wills in 1989. She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Wynne and Mary Jo Wynn of Springfield, MO; three daughters, Gretchen Blickensderfer of Coffeyville; Martha Weaver of Colorado Springs, and Susan Collins of Elko, Nevada; two grandsons, Jason Weaver and Reuben Collins; two granddaughters, Rebekah Wisham and Rachel Collins; one great-grandson, Garret Weaver; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Chapel with the burial following the service at the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Blickensderfer will lie in state from 1-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 23 with the family receiving friends from 7-8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Chapel.
