Joan Rauscher

Joan Marie Ziegler Rauscher, 82, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at CRMC. Joan was born on October 5, 1929 to Carl and Virginia Ziegler. Joan graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1947. She furthered her education at Miami University in Florida where she met the love of her life Melvin Rauscher. They were married on September 1, 1949. They moved to Pennsylvania and grew their family. In 1961 they came back to Coffeyville and started Edgewood Lanes. Joan was active in P.E.O. for 50 years, St. Pauls Episcopal Altar Guild, The Red Cross, and various bowling leagues. Joan enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed sharing what she made with her family. She loved to crochet and made numerous afghans for family members until arthritis took that skill away. Surviving to honor her memory are her sons, Doug Rauscher and wife, Ann, Bob Rauscher and wife, Carol daughters, Gayle Pierson and husband Jay, Lynne Oliver and husband, Ken eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia husband, Melvin and brother, Carl Dave Ziegler. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Father Jerry Adinolfi will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the St. Pauls Episcopal Church.
