Coffeyville resident, JoAnn Sumner passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was 75. JoAnn was born December 19, 1932 in Neodesha, Kansas to William and Lela McClure Hensley. She grew up attending Coffeyville schools where she earned her diploma in 1950. October 11, 1955 she was united in marriage to her loving husband DonKeith Sumner in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home in Coffeyville, where JoAnn spent her time as a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling; she bowled in the Thursday night Womens League and the Friday Night Mixed League. She was president of the Westside Workers branch of the Montgomery County Home Extension. JoAnn loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Surviving to honor her memory are her husband Keith ; sons, Steve Nye of Delaware, Oklahoma, Don Peggy Sumner, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Darrell Patty Sumner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Shelly Dennis Mosler of Owasso, Oklahoma; brothers, Robert Barbara Hensley of Garden City, Kansas, Ronald Kay Hensley of Coffeyville, Kansas; ten grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; a sister and her step father. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
