John Patrick Myer, age 74 of Coffeyville, Kansas died Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Burial will follow with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 20 and the VFW Post 1022 at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
The family has suggested memorials to the VFW Post 1022 and contributions may be left at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
John was born July 5, 1938 in Newark, New Jersey to John Joseph and Mary Lessing Myer. He grew up in New Jersey and graduated from the South Side High School in New Jersey. John then entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge. After returning home from the service John worked at Worthingtons in New Jersey before moving to California. John worked at Lesley Salt plastic manufacturing plane. In 1973 He went to work for Pabco until his retirement in 1997.
On August 18, 1979 John married Geneva Hager in Reno, Nevada. The couple made their home in California before moving to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1997.
Survivors include wife Geneva of the home one son John Milos of Omaha, Nebraska one daughter Carol Churchill of Texas three brothers Joseph, Bill and Danny Myer all of New Jersey one sister Joyce Myer of Connecticut eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
