John Patton

John L. Patton Grove, Oklahoma resident, John Lewallen Patton entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Bartlesville. He was 61. John was born on September 22, 1945 in Cherokee, Oklahoma to Hubert Victor and Norma Lee Stevens Patton. He attended schools in Alfalfa County. In his early teens the family moved to California and John graduated from Ramona High School at Riverside, California. John was involved with ranching in Oregon, Kansas and Oklahoma. He was the owner of Patton News Agency in Ontario, California and always refered to himself as just a paperboy. After retirement and due to his failing health, John and Ginger moved to Grand Lake to enjoy their children and grandchildren. He thought moving to the lake was out of kidness, I suppose. He is survived by Ginger Reynolds of the home, daughters, Megan and husband Matt Gillman of Coffeyville; Amy and husband Don Floyd of Burbank, CA; Dawn Patton of Riverside, CA.; a son, Billy Patton of Mountain Grove, MO.; a brother, James Panknin of Havelock, NC. The grandchildren are Colton Gillman, Jennifer Floyd, Derek Peyton, Jenna Nitz and Khloe Blassingill and Johns special friend Dave Bishop. John was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Phillip John Patton. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel in Coffeyville. Pastor Brad Sanders of the First Christian Church in Caney will officiate. The cremains will be intered in the family plot at Waynoka Municipal Cemetery in Waynoka, Oklahoma on Wednesday at 1:00 PM To leave a special message online, visit www.PenwellGabel.com
