John Ralph Sullivan went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
John was born August 23, 1927 in Houston, TX to John and Fay (Nidiffer) Sullivan. He attended grade school at Eastwood Elementary in Houston. John and his family moved to Vinita, OK where he graduated from Vinita High School. He then attended NEO A&M in Miami, OK. He was in the United States Air Force and 8th Service Command. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Hughey on July 6, 1962. John worked for Gooch Foods and Archer Daniels Midland for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Coffeyville First United Methodist Church, a Mason with Vinita Lodge #5, 32nd KCCH Member of the Scottish Rite Consistory of Tulsa, OK. John loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed working for the Sideliners Booster Club when his grandchildren were in high school.
Those left to cherish John's memory are his children, Mike Hughey his wife Kim of Coffeyville, daughter Patti Miesner her husband Tom of Coffeyville, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many dear friends.
John now rests with his wife Betty, his parents, and a sister Wanda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Chapel from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the First United Methodist Church or to the Coffeyville Relay for Life and they may be sent in care of the Chapel.
