John Zweyer, Jr.

John Thomas Zweyer, Jr. 1928 2007 Lawrence, Kansas resident, John Thomas Zweyer, Jr., formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2007. He was 78. John was born December 29, 1928 in Preston County, West Virginia to John T. Zweyer, Sr. and Nancy Ellen Strawser Zweyer. On March 13, 1982 he married Sarah F. Coffelt in Lawrence, Kansas. They later made their home in Coffeyville for several years. Mr. Zweyer was of the Pentecostal Faith. Mr. Zweyer was employed with the University of Kansas as a Custodian for many years. Survivors include his wife Sarah F. Zweyer of Lawrence, KS. His children: Linda Cox of Ft. Scott, KS; Francis E. Kissinger, West Virginia; Sherry Taylor, West Virginia; Tommy P. Zweyer, West Virginia; Leroy J. Zweyer, Virginia. 2 Step-daughters, Donna Nelson, Lawrence, KS; Debbie Bond Richard of Hungry Horse, Montana. Step-sons, Fred Coffelt, Lawrence, KS; Robert Coffelt, Jr., Reno, NV. He enlisted in the US Army July 11, 1953. John was a Korean War Veteran. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
