Joyce Kearns

Joyce Elaine Kearns, 53, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. Joyce was born on September 16, 1958 in Coffeyville, Kansas to William and Bonnie Mae Woods Foulk. Joyce grew up in the Coffeyville area where she attended local schools, later received her G.E.D. and took some occupational courses through Coffeyville Community College. On March 31, 1990 she was united in marriage to Keith Kearns in Coffeyville where the couple made their home. Joyce worked as a welder for Halliburton. She enjoyed reading and she loved horses. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. The family recalled what a good cook she was and mentioned how much they enjoyed her meatloaf and deviled eggs along with many other things she prepared. Joyce enjoyed the fall holidays and most of all enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her husband, Keith Kearns of Coffeyville sisters, Mary Jo Howard and husband, Richard of Coffeyville, Guylia Foulk of Liberty, Ks and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bonnie and infant daughter, Nikki Renee Wood. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society these may be left with the funeral home.
