Judith Ann Wold Cook age 68 of Coffeyville passed away on February 9, 2022 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center with her loved ones at her side.
Judith was born on July 15, 1953 in Honolulu to Jens and Jacqueline (Dunning) Wold. Being a Navy Brat, she called many places home, she attended school in the valley in California until the 8th grade then moving to a ranch in the middle of nowhere Wyoming where she and her siblings attended a one room school. Due to being so far from town the children boarded with folks in town while they attended high school. Judith graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1971 and she continued her education at Eastern Wyoming College in 1974. She was united in marriage to Neil Cook on May 10, 1974; the couple started a family, with her bearing a child in 75, 76, 78, and 79. The family made their home in Colorado where Judith earned her Master’s Degree from University of Northern Colorado in elementary Education. She then began her teaching career at the Navajo Red Rock School. For the next 30 years Judith subbed where she was needed and finished her career with USD 445 in 2019. Judith was first and foremost a mother, she loved her children with every ounce of her being and just when you didn’t think she could love something more, she became a grandma. When she wasn’t able to go on a trip with her children or spend time with her grands, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and genealogy. She could stretch a 20 dollar bill and she taught her children how to be frugal as well. She didn’t enjoy cooking but she could burn a perfectly good piece of toast if she had to. She was fiercely stubborn, sarcastically funny, extremely intelligent, and a very strong Christian.
Judith’s memories will live on with her ex-husband Neil Cook, children; Jennifer Ann Towe (Roy), Justin Neil Cook (Hilary), Jonathan Jens Cook (Angela), Joshua William Cook (Julie), siblings; Paul Flowers, James Wold, Michael Wold, and Marie Rudloff, grandchildren; Ashley Christine Ann Cook, Jaeden Nicole Ann Cook, Wyatt James Cook, Trey Allen Cook, Bromlee Alyn Cook, Brynn Meryl Cook, and Allie Dee Cook.
She now rests with her parents, her brother Hurshell Flowers, her grandparents and her great-grandparents.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Coffeyville Church of the Nazarene. The family suggests memorials be made payable to Children’s Mercy and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland, Ave Coffeyville, KS 67337.
