June Mabel Gruber, 87, Coffeyville, Kansas, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Windsor Place Care Center, Coffeyville. June Bug, as she was known, to friends and family alike, was born June 9, 1923 at Nebraska to Fred O. and Margaret McNabb. She came to Coffeyville in the 1930s and worked as a donut fryer for Goldies Pie Shop from 1942 1959 and also worked for a local nursing home. June married Merle Gruber in 1946 at Coffeyville. Mr. Gruber preceded his wife in death in 1957. She was a member of Coffeyvilles First Church of the Nazarene. June enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and tending to her large, wild tomato plant. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. Survivors are her two sons, Jerry Gruber and his wife, Sue and Gary Gruber, all of Coffeyville three grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville. Service and interment are under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Visitation will be at the funeral home 18 p.m., Wednesday, with family receiving guests from 68 p.m. Family and friends may give to the First Church of the Nazarene and donations may be left with the funeral home.
