June Elaine Strimple age 76 of Coffeyville passed away on December 27, 2020 at Medicalodges of Coffeyville.
Elaine was born on June 7, 1944 in Coffeyville to Eldon and Alma (Folk) Meek. She was raised in the local area and attended the old Ringo School and then graduated from Field Kindley High School. After high school she worked various jobs; Fashion Shoes, Perl Chevrolet, Coffeyville Motors, Quality Toyota, Coffeyville Journal, and she retired as the agent at American Family Insurance where she worked for 15 years before health forced her retirement. She was united in marriage to William Strimple on April 14, 1978. Elaine loved being involved with the community, she was a part of many events and organizations like; the Coffeyville Community Involvement, Dalton Defenders, Coffeyville Citizens Restoring the Past, and was instrumental in getting the moving wall to come. She was a professional clown and balloon artist. Elaine loved to be center stage no matter what she was doing it was her chance to be in charge. She loved to laugh and to make people laugh.
Elaine’s memories will live on with her daughter Lisa Conner and son Russ Strimple and Cindy, brothers; Ken Meek, David Meek, and Steven Meek, sisters; Delores Wilson and Margaret Grothe, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She now rests with her parents, husband William Strimple, and brothers; Lloyd Meek and Dan Meek; brother-in-law, Jack Grothe; sister-in-laws, Betty Lou Meek and Betty Jo Meek; brother-in-law, Vernon Wilson; niece, Karen Liming
Graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Veteran’s Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery at 1:00pm. The service will be streamed live on Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel’s Facebook page for those not able to attend in person. The family requests that memorials be made payable to Coffeyville Friends of Animals in place of flowers. A book signing will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
