Karlene Marshall, 85, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center after a long and happy life.

Karlene Moselle Turner was born April 26, 1931, in Drumright, Oklahoma, the fifth of five children born to Mose Greenbury Turner and Della Mae [[][[]][[][[]]]Drumright] Turner. Karlene was raised in Drumright, attending schools there, graduated HS in 1949. She then attended Business College, in Oklahoma City, OK, receiving her associate's degree.

She was married on July 22, 1955, in Drumright, to Charles Wilber Marshall. The family raised their three children: Charlene, David, and Brenda, in Tulsa, Independence, and Coffeyville. Karlene was employed by City Publishing Co, Independence, KS, and then Electra Automotive Controls, Independence, Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville for ten years, and finally retiring after 10+plus years with Phillips Petroleum, Bartlesville, OK. She also sold Stanley and McNess home products. She was church pianist for over thirty years in Coffeyville and Bartlesville. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Coffeyville, for over 45 years.

Karlene enjoyed crocheting and plastic canvas embroidery, but most of all being with family and especially doting on her grandchildren. She will be best remembered for her willingness to help anyone.

Survivors blessed by her memories are her three children, Charlene Merriman (Philip) of Coffeyville, Son David Marshall of Branson, MO, and Daughter Brenda Cummings of Kansas City, KS, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) in 1986, her parents, siblings Floyd Turner, Fern Thompson, Velma Davis, and Katherine Seigel; and one great grandchild.


Graveside celebration of life services are scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00am at Fairview Veterans Memorial Patio, Coffeyville, KS.
