Kathleen Todd

Kathleen Alida Todd went to be with her Lord on August 29, 2009. Mrs. Todd was born March 15, 1914 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Charles Clell and Lena Matilda Alterman Barker. She grew up in Pittsburg and attended the public school system. As a child she was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. On March 19, 1933 she married London Neil Todd in Nowata, Oklahoma. Following their marriage the couple lived in Caney for a short time before moving to Coffeyville where the couple established Neil Todd Upholstery in 1934. From 1954 until 1969 Mr. Todd managed Rok-A-Chair Manufacturing Co while Mrs. Todd and her son continued custom upholstery. Later Mrs. Todd operated a drapery business from her home for many years before returning to assist her son in the upholstery business. Her husband preceded her in death on June 23, 1989. She became a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught a childrens Sunday School Class for many years. She was a life member of the P.T.A. where she also served as a chairperson, charter member of the service organization Altrussa and the Kiwanetas. She is survived by her son, Edwin Neil Todd and wife Marilyn of Coffeyville; daughter, Phyllis Ann Jack and husband Bob of Sarcoxie, MO; brother, John Wayne Barker and wife Ginny of Camdenton, MO; eleven grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren which were the light of her life. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers; Clell, Charles, Hubert, Albert, Lawrence, Donald and Richard; three sisters, Mildred McLean, Lois Barker and Ruth Mease and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville First Baptist Church. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register.
