Kathy C. Summers

Kathy C. Summers, 70, Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A public visitation will be held for friends and family on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. followed by cremation.

Kathy was born October 5, 1953, in Parsons, Kansas, to Charles and Margaret (Laswell) Witt. At the age of five, the family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where she attended Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Field Kindley High School. Following high school, Kathy attended Pittsburg State University before moving to Burns Flat, Oklahoma.  On June 1, 1974, Kathy married Stephen J. Summers; the couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Kathy was a homemaker and babysitter. Her hobbies included quilting, crafts, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and growing Iris’s.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Mother-in-law Mary Catherine Summers, Sister-in-Law Donna Mary Summers, one daughter Amanda Kay, and great niece Kaelyn Kendrick. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Stephen of the home, one son James “Jim” and wife Shannon Summers, Coffeyville, Kansas; two sisters, Paula A. Phillips, San Antonio, Texas; Sheryl A. Kendrick and husband Steve, Coffeyville, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Jillian Summers, and Carson Summers, one brother-in-law Theodore J. Summers, Coffeyville, Kansas; and many extended family and friends.
