Kenneth Chancy

Kenneth E. Chancy 1924 2007 Kenneth E. Chancy, age 82, longtime Coffeyville resident entered into rest on March 2, 2007 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville. Kenneth was born August 18, 1924 in Humboldt, Kansas to Amos and Gladys Oliphant Chancy. Kenneth was a 1942 graduate of Humboldt High School. He served in the US Air Force during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. On October 10, 1944 he married Kathalea White in Chanute, Kansas. Mrs. Chancy survives of the home in Coffeyville. In 2006 they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Chancy are members of the Grace Fellowship Church of Coffeyville where Kenneth sang in the Church Choir. He served on the Grace Fellowship Church Council. Mr. Chancy was a past member of the Masonic Lodge of Humboldt for over 50 years. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Chancy was a sales manager for Prudential Insurance Company for 33 years. He retired in 1983. Survivors include his wife Kathalea Kay Chancy of Coffeyville; two sons, Gary Chancy Janice of Hunnington Beach, California; Steve Chancy Debbie of Edmond, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren, Three great grandchildren. Four sisters, Madeline Bebee Don of Raytown, Missouri; Kathleen Carlson Art of Overland Park, Kansas; Alexine Booe Bob of Atchinson, Kansas; Sondra Jordan Mike of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Calling hoursvisitation: Mr. Chancy will lie in state on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabels Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Grace Fellowship Church of Coffeyville with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2000 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville.
