Kenneth W. Ferguson, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on September 30, 2024, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67.
Kenneth was born to Charles K. Ferguson and Pauline M. (Grother) Ferguson on January 4, 1957, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He grew up in rural Tyro, Kansas attended school in Caney and graduated from Caney Valley High School. Growing up, Kenneth loved all that rural life had to offer, his work ethics began early he experienced working in the hayfield for a friend and assisting with chores on the family farm. These formative years instilled in him a robust work ethic that would guide him throughout his life.
On June 18, 1977 Kenneth married Saundra Kimmons in Coffeyville, Kansas the couple just celebrated forty-seven years together. The couple had two sons Clint and Brad and Coffeyville has been their home.
Kenneth spent eleven dedicated years at Jensen International before moving on to Dixon Industries, where he honed his skills as a fabricator. Even after the closing of the business, he found various odd jobs, refusing to let the concept of retirement tether him down. Kenneth had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting fishing and archery. He was a member of the Osage Archery team in Bartlesville competing in numerous competitions over the years.
Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he loved his family dearly and worked hard to make sure they had more than he had growing up. Kenneth was a kept to himself kind of guy, but his family knew how much they were loved and meant to him by his acts of service for them.
Kenneth leaves behind his beloved wife, Saundra Ferguson, and is survived by his sons, Clint Ferguson and his wife Tabitha, and Brad Ferguson, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them. His grandchildren, Kennedy, Owen, and Nora Ferguson lit up his world with their laughter and love, and they will forever hold tightly the sweet memories of their grandpa. He is also remembered by his siblings: Roger Ferguson and his wife Peggy, Richard Ferguson, and Rita Stultz and her husband Willie. Remembering those who preceded him is his infant brother, Steven Ferguson, and his sister, Kaylene Ferguson.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 1 PM to 5 PM at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave. in Coffeyville, Kansas, followed by a Funeral Service on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2 PM with Chaplain Keith Springer officiating. Cremation will take place following the services and Kenneth will be laid to rest at a future date. The family will be searching for the perfect final place of rest. Kenneth and Saundra felt that St. Judes Children's and Shriner's Children's Hospital were both notable places to financially support the family is requesting that memorial contributions to be made to either one in Kenneth's memory.
