Kenneth Leon Mayfield, age 90, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away on October 9, 2016 at his home.
He was born April 13, 1926 in Cherryvale, KS to Benjamin Cecil and Fern D. (Bryan) Mayfield. He worked various jobs over the years. In 1966 he married Wilma Humphrey, on September 25, 2016 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Kenneth worked for the City of Coffeyville for a number of years until his retirement at the age of 62. He enjoyed spending time with family, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed waxing and polishing his cars and fishing. He raced stock cars as a young man and enjoyed helping his youngest son with his stock cars in his later years. He enjoyed going to McDonalds several times each week to drink coffee with friends.
Those left honoring his memory are, his wife Wilma of the home, sons David, Kenny Jr. and Jeff, step-children, Pam, Diane, and Kevin, his brother Ray, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sisters, Merna, Avis, and Willa Bell.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 11:00am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Comitial will follow at the Veterans Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Friday October 14, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Chapel. The family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice.
