Kent Douglas Lawson age 62 of Texarkana, AR and formerly of Edna, KS passed away on December 13, 2017 at his home.
Kent was born in Coffeyville on May 13, 1955 to Wayne Lawson and Martha (Littell) Carey. Kent attended local schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School, he continued his education at Coffeyville Community College and Pittsburg State University where he earned his degree in accounting. Kent meet the love of his life, Edna Rame and they were united in marriage on December 20, 1980. To this union the couple was blessed with a son. The family made their home in Edna, Kansas until 2006 when they relocated to Texarkana so Kent could pursue work with the Ashgrove Cement Company as a purchaser. In his free time, Kent enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and riding horses. He was a genuinely caring soul that loved his family deeply.
Kent's memories will live on through his wife Edna, son Kendall Lawson his wife Kyla, his mother Martha Carey her husband Dean, brother Jeff Lawson, sisters, Jennifer Snook, Kathy Cole, Janie Carey Wilson, Deann Stoneking, and grandson Kaden Wayne Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his father Wayne.
Honoring Kent's wishes, cremation under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel will take place. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The family will hold a private inurnment at a later date.
