Kyler Ray Blagg, 15, Caney, Kansas died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Kylers mother, Amy Blagg, passed away Saturday night in Coffeyville as a result of the same accident. Kyler was born October 27, 1993 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Brent A. Blagg and Amy Jo Miner Blagg. He grew up in Caney, as was currently a freshman at Caney Valley High School. Kyler was very artistic and loved to draw fantasy and anime characters and created and produced his own claymation films and videos. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville and recently started attending Caney First Baptist church where he worked as a custodian and his mother, Amy, was church secretary. Kyler had attained a green belt in Karate. Survivors include his father, Brent, of the home; paternal grandmother, Beverly Blagg of Hutchinson, Kansas; maternal grandparents, Milton and Shirley Miner of Coffeyville; three brothers, Erik Blagg and his girlfriend, Christa Schiler of Caney, Andy Blagg and his fiance, Blair Durham of Greenville, South Carolina and Brandon Blagg of the home; a sister, Tara Blagg of the home; three aunts, Brenda Smith and her husband, Mike of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bridget Everett and her husband, Skip of Midland, Texas and Denise Krumwiede and her husband, Cliff of Claremore, Oklahoma; three nephews, Kaden amp; Eli Blagg and Bryson Schiler and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy and paternal grandfather, Buddy Blagg on January 31, 1998. Funeral services for Amy and Kyler Blagg will be held 10 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2009 at Coffeyvilles First Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Rich Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Visitation for Amy and Kyler will be from 10 a.m. 9 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church, 2701 W. 8th in Coffeyville. Family will receive friends at the church from 6 9 p.m. Donations can be made in memory of Amy and Kyler to the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville or the Caney First Baptist Church. All donations may be sent to Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
