Larkin Adams

Larkin Richard (Dick) Adams, age 73, of Elk Falls, KS passed away on October 6, 2021 at Ignite Medical Resort Adams Parc in Bartlesville, OK.

Dick was born on March 16, 1948 in Winfield, KS to Larkin Bernard and Bernice Josephine (Harrington) Adams. Dick was raised in Elk Falls his entire life, he attended grade school at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Elk Falls grade school; he then attended Howard High School and graduated from Moline High School with the class of 1966. He continued his education at Independence Community College and Kansas State University. Dick found employment with Sunnen Products Company of St. Louis, Missouri working his way up to the role of Regional Sales Manager, putting in over 20 years of service. During his time with Sunnen he used his weekends to start a first-generation farming and ranching operation. Dick also served for 25 years on the Elk County Rural Water Board and he served a stint as the Mayor of Elk Falls.

Dick met the love of his life Linda Gayle Tredway in high school and they were united in marriage on August 10, 1984 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline, KS. The couple was blessed with two sons, Michael Brady and Morgan Bailey. Dick was an outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, raising cattle, making his rounds at the coffee shops, and he had a passion for family. He had a broad knowledge of almost every topic due to his travels and had a universal sense of humor, always joking and laughing. He certainly made the world a happier place to live. A cancer survivor, Dick had a newfound outlook on life and often considered each day an extra gift, most importantly, the last 25 years with his family. He loved being a father and could always be found with at least one of the boys if not both.

Dick’s memories will live on with his wife Linda of the home, sons; Michael Brady Adams of Elk Falls, KS and Morgan Bailey Adams his fiancé of Jessica Gallagher; his siblings: Robert Adams and his wife Willie of Elk Falls, KS, Alice Brunetti of Modesto, CA, sister-in-law Sue Adams of Coffeyville, KS, nieces and nephews; Jackie Adams, John Adams, Julie Wolfer, Lauren Jones, Michael Brunetti, David Brunetti, Randee Weldon, and Katrina Stocker.

He now rests with his parents, brother John Adams, brother-in-law Mario Brunetti, and friend Max Kammerlocher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Spencer officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Moline. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Longton Free Fair Association, Moline Rodeo Association, and a fund to be set up for the Dick Adams Memorial Scholarship.
