Larry Lain

Larry Wayne Lain, 56, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Claremore Indian Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born to Samie and Wanda Mae Driskell Lain on July 3, 1952. Larry attended school at Snow Creek, McKinley, Roosevelt, and Field Kindley in Coffeyville. He received his G.E.D. in 1971 while serving in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Rean Lain of North Carolina and Larry Joe Lain of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; father and step-mother, Samie and Martha Rae Lain of South Coffeyville; mother and step-father, Wanda Mae and Floyd Felton of Lenapah, Oklahoma; three brothers, Samie Lee Lain and wife, Nancy, Frankie Glen Lain and Ricky Ray Lain and wife, Kim, all of South Coffeyville; two sisters, Terry Ann Langworthy and husband, Gary, and Sherry Lynn Songer, all of Coffeyville, Kansas; one half sister, Connie Rudd and husband, Mark, of Lenapah; two step-brothers, Jefferey Lynn Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Butch Felton of Burden, Kansas; two step-sisters Jeanette Sue Anderson of Enid, Oklahoma and Joyce Holiday of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rean and Bonnie Lain, and Wayne Driskell. The family visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date.
