LAWRENCE CHARLES WRIGHT 1918-2005 Longtime Coffeyville resident Lawrence Charles Wright went home to Heaven Saturday, April 2, 2005 while at the home of his daughter, Carol Grace in Glendale, Arizona. Mr. Wright was born May 2, 1918, the only child of Charles and Maggie Maxwell Wright at the family home south of Tyro. On December 25, 1937, he married Mildred Wilson in her parents home west of Coffeyville. He attended Banks School and graduated from Tyro High School. Mr. Wright farmed until 1960 when he moved to Coffeyville and became an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Co. of Montgomery County. The family moved to Pittsburg when he was appointed Farm Bureau General Agent of Crawford County. He later went into business for himself and had Wright Construction Company in Coffeyville. In 1986, Mr. and Mrs. Wright moved to Arizona and he was associated with GraDel Properties Inc., a property management company. In 1999 he retired and returned to Coffeyville. Mr. Wright was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville. He is survived by his wife Mildred of Coffeyville; two sons, Larry and wife Nancy of Coffeyville, and Harol and wife Rowanna of Royce City, Texas; two daughters, Carol J. Grace of Glendale, Arizona and Cheryl of Coffeyville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Jim and Trudy Wright, Skylar, Taylor and Hunter, of Coffeyville; Cindy Wright and Benjy Fenske, Korby and Avery of Republic, Missouri; Sharla Wright and Tony DenOuden, Case, Brooklyn and Jacob of Noblesville, Indiana; Kenton and Lisa Wright and Eran of Caddo Mills, Texas; an adopted daughter, Rila Jean Archer of Ash Grove, Missouri; an adopted granddaughter, Rhonda Welch of Glendale, Arizona; two step-granddaughters and three step-great grandchildren, Cami and Shane Elliott, Kylie and Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cari and Jason Redden and Matthew of Coffeyville. Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Funeral Home, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2005 at First Southern Baptist Church, 8th and Overlook, Coffeyville. Presiding will be Mr. Wrights son, the Reverend Harol Wright, chaplain of Wounded Shepards; the Reverend Richard Jenkins of First Southern Baptist Church, and the Reverend C.L. Armstrong, former pastor of Coffeyville 1st Nazarene Church. Burial will be in the family lot at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Memorials have been established in Mr. Wrights name with Wounded Shepards of Pastors Institute, P.O. Box 2035, Anderson, Indiana, 46011 and with the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville.
