Lelia Marie Polk, 64, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Lelia was born on June 12, 1950 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Edward Lee and Betty J. Taylor Brooks. She grew up in Coffeyville where she graduated from Field Kindley High School and attended college at Coffeyville Community College.
On June 22, 1968 she was united in marriage to Thomas Dale Polk in Coffeyville, Kansas. The couple made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their three daughters. She worked as an upholsterer for Cessna Aircraft and for the snack bar at the Coffeyville VoTech for several years. Thomas preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville. She enjoyed reading and shopping. She also cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory are her daughters, Lisa English of Thayer, Kansas, Misty Schenck and husband, Chad of Wichita, Kansas, Melody Feikert and husband, Tim of Paola, Kansas mother, Betty Brooks of Coffeyville, Kansas grandchildren, Jake, Kayla, Zack, Alec, Jordan, Hayden, Isabella great grandchildren, Cayden, Brycen and Aleeya sisters, Laura Robson and husband, Robert of Coffeyville, Kansas, Rita Hanna and husband, David of Coffeyville, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Ford Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the CRMC Oncology Department these may be left with the funeral home.
