Leona M. Beair Foland, 99, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Leona was born in rural Coffeyville on July 31, 1912 the daughter of Albert and Mamie ONeal Beair. She graduated from Coffeyville Washington High School in 1931. On June 7, 1931, she married Glenn Foland in Independence, Kansas. The couple resided in Coffeyville until Glenn retired from Ozark Smelter in 1971. That year, they moved to Grand Lake of Grove, Oklahoma. There, Leona was a member of the Grove Methodist Church and a charter member of Grove AARP. She enjoyed square dancing and fishing. The couple moved back to Coffeyville in September of 1998 to be near family. She then became a member of the Coffeyville First Presbyterian Church. Glenn passed away on February 18, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Glenna Jean Kelley, Coffeyville grandchildren, Dick Kelley, Edna, Kansas, and Donna and Warren Woods, Osawatomie, Kansas five greatgrandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents husband son, Roger Foland sister, Eva Eudaly and an infant granddaughter. Memorial service will be held at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel, Coffeyville, on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Diane Massey will preside. Friends may sign the guest register on Thursday, April 19, from 1 to 8 PM and Friday, April 20, from 8 AM to 1 PM. Private inurnment at a future date will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park, Coffeyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coffeyville First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. These may be left with the funeral home.
