Leona Moore

Leona Mae Moore, 90, of Dearing, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 at CRMC. Leona was born on January 11, 1918 in Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Fred L. and Rose Josephine Journot Wilson. In 1936, she graduated from Labette Co. Community High School in Altamont, Kansas. Following graduation, Leona was united in marriage to William H.Bill Moore on September 2, 1939. Leona was a home maker, enjoyed painting and was a talented artist. Surviving to honor her memory is her husband, William Bill; sister, Maxine Moore of Parsons, KS; son, J.D. Moore, MD, Christmas, FL; grandchildren, Lori L. Brewer, Bartlesville, OK, Summer L. Farnsworth, Bartlesville, OK, Brian B. Moore, Rockville, MD; James R. Moore, Christmas, FL, M. Edrie Moore, Orlando, FL, and Jennifer Winston, Deerfield Beach, FL and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Ruth Rommelfanger, and daughter, Carol Ann Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, KS with Pastor Jamie Regis of Dearing Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be given to the Dearing Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
