Leonard Colbert, age 89 of Coffeyville, passed away on September 14, 2016 at his home.
Leonard was born on February 16, 1927 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to Charles and Clara (Terry) Colbert. He attended schools in Oklahoma and then began working for the Missouri Pacific Union Pacific Railroad. He was united in marriage to Aserlee Williams on March 13, 1945. They made their home in Coffeyville, and were blessed with two daughters.
Those left to honor his memory are, his wife of 71 years, Aserlee Colbert of the home, daughter Rita Kenaday, her husband Tom, brothers, Oliver Colbert his wife Mammi of Broken Arrow, OK and Herman Colbert his wife Staci of Dallas, TX, sisters Carolyn Cain her husband Graham of Wichita, KS and Susy Hayes her husband Ray of Coffeyville, grandson Lorne Kamau of Coffeyville, great-granddaughter Alexis Tate, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Evelyn Colbert, brothers; James, Pearl, Marlin, Donald, and Nathaniel Colbert, sister Elizabeth Lewis.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at 11:00am with Pastor Jeff Colbert of St James Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register on Thursday September 22, 2016 at the Chapel from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
