Lester Douglas Luker, “Doug” as everyone knew him, Passed away on Nov. 6th, 2019. Doug was born Sept. 6th, 1942 in Ft. Smith, AR to Lester and Mittie Luker. He attended school in Malvern until his family moved to Coffeyville, KS where he attended high school. Upon graduating Doug joined the Military where he served 4 years as a Marine.
Shortly after being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps Doug began a distinguished career at Coop Refinery in 1965 where he worked for 30+ years. He married Sondra Wells on June 5, 1965 and made their home in Coffeyville until there divorce in 1995. Together they had 2 children, Doug and Melissa.
He met Shirley Sherman in 1998 and were married on April 1, 2011 together lived in Valeda, KS until his death. Doug loved camping, fishing and traveling.
Doug is survived by his wife Shirley Luker of the home; daughter, Melissa (Clayton) Hibbard of Fredonia, KS; Three grandsons, Jarrett (Monica) Luker of Coffeyville, KS; Matthew (Abbie) Luker of Parsons, KS; Nick Hibbard of Fredonia, KS; Two granddaughters Clara and Natalia Hibbard of Fredonia, KS; One great grandson Liam Luker of Parsons, KS; step-daughter, Holly Sherman; step-granddaughter, Saleen Pitts; step-grandson, David Hartzell all off Coffeyville, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Janice Thomas and son Lester Douglas Luker Jr.
Upon Doug’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.
