Letha Hilderbrand

Letha Lorene Hilderbrand, 90, formerly of Valeda, Kansas went to be with her Lord Monday morning, July 11, 2011. She was born August 27, 1920 in Craig County, OK to Charley O. and Louesea Frantz Transue. She attended Hudson and Thompson schools in rural OK. On April 6, 1938 she married William F. Duke Hilderbrand in Nowata County, OK. They lived in Coffeyville and Vinita for several years and lived their last 34 years together in Valeda. Survivors include three sons, William D. Buck of Udall, Kansas, Michael E. of Rosedale, CA, and Keith J. of Altamont, Kansas a sister, Ruth Ames of Valeda two brothers, Calvin Transue of Coffeyville, and Leo Transue of Edna ten grandchildren twentysix greatgrandchildren and thirteen great greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Louesea Transue her husband, William F. Duke Hilderbrand four sisters, Wanda Transue, Pearl McClaine, Charlotte Cox, and Mae Hilderbrand one brother Aaron Transue one greatgranddaughter Haley Hilderbrand. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2011, at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Burial will be in the Elm Grove North Edna Cemetery, Edna, Kansas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel, Thursday, 9am8pm. The family suggests memorials to Haley Hilderbrand Scholarship and donations may be left at PenwellGabel Funeralh Home amp Crematory.
