Obituary Lindsey Perry Keene Lindsey Perry Keene age 87 of Caney died on Monday July 10, 2006 at his home. He was born March 11, 1919 in Nowata, Oklahoma to John Ridge and Susie Ele Keene. He grew up and attended school in the Dearing area. He graduated from Caney High School. On June 20, 1940 he married Edith Laurayne Lopp in Independence. They made their home South of Jefferson and later they moved to the Industrial Park area Northeast of Coffeyville where he worked as an oil field pumper. After retirement they later moved to the Tyro area. Laurayne preceded him in death December 17, 1992. In January 2001 he was married to Gwen Brewer. They made their home in the rural Caney area. Mr. Keene loved fishing and farming. He also enjoyed gardening with the family. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed sharing family stories with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He had a great memory and could remember dates and things that happened in the past. He attended the Tyro Christian Church with his family. He is survived by his wife Gwen of the home, son Calvin Keene of Caney, Daughter Linda Keene and Gene White of Ulysses, Kansas, son Joel and Diane Keene of rural Caney, Step-daughter Joyce Brewer and Jim Snell of Caney. There are 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Laurayne, daughter-in-law Donna Keene. Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Tyro Christian Church. Pastors David Bycroft and Mike Arnaud will officiate and burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery West of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 AM until 9 PM and Thursday 9 AM until 9 PM at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville to sign the guest register.
