Lois Schoonover of rural Caney, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at her home. She was 58. Lois was born May 25, 1950 in Bismarck, ND to Earl and Gloria Schoonover. She grew up in North Dakota. She achieved her Bachelors in Business Management. She relocated to Coffeyville, KS in 2000 to be close to her granddaughter Kenzee. Later she moved to Emporia, KS to pursue her Bachelors in Art which she achieved. She was currently pursuing her Masters in Art Therapy when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2008. She enjoyed art, gardening, her flower gardens, her dogs, rummage sales, fishing, camping, being on the boat and time with her family. He favorite times were spent with her granddaughter, Kenzee. She was the center of her world. Grammas favorite even though gramma said she didnt play favorites. Surviving to honor her memory is her mother, Gloria Schoonover; daughters, Kelly Wooldridge and husband Corey, Andi Persons; adopted daughter, Susie Voorhies; son, Daniel Persons and wife Mary Lou; sisters, Jane Christianson and family, Judy Shultz; brother, James Schoonover and family. She is also survived by may close friends and extended family, Marge and Norma Keys, Shawn and Kim Quarles kids Aesia and Cameron, Chris Paolini, Karla Bretches, Sarah and Mary DeBoard, Jenny Schmidt daughter Jewlz, Wanda Loomis and Sandee ONeil. She was preceded in death by her father Earl. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Dinner that will be held at 12:00pm at 702 Keith Blvd Saturday, March 14, 2009. The family requests you bring a covered dish. Arrangements are being handled by Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns in Coffeyville.
