Mrs. Lora B. Coddington, 88, of Coffeyville, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Windsor Place. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Fredonia City Cemetery with the Reverend Gerald Morris, pastor of Grace Fellowship of Coffeyville, officiating. Interment will be under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorial remembrances to Grace Fellowship of Coffeyville and remembrances will be received at the funeral home. Lora B. Cottington was born May 7, 1920 at Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Woodworth Tarter and Laura Bell Davis Tarter. She attended Fredonia area schools, graduating from Fredonia High School. She worked at Kansas Bank Note in Fredonia for several years. Throughout her lifetime, she was a homemaker and farmers wife. She attended Grace Fellowship with her family. She was a long time member of the Eastern Star at Altoona, Kansas. On February 26, 1944 at Kansas City she was united in marriage to Royal Chester Coddington. He survives at the home. Additonal survivors include: two sons, John Harvey Coddington and his wife Mary Frances of Cabool, Missouri and Carl Gene Coddington and his wife Kathryn Dee Ann of Cuba, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Jane Morris and her husband Gerald of Coffeyville; 10 grandchildren and many great grand and great great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Evelyn Tarter of Fredonia, Kansas. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
