Lorene Bean

Lorene Ann Bean, 69, of Coffeyville, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at her home due to heart complications. She was born on September 12, 1938 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Lawrence and Velma Loomis Wilson. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1956. In 1983 she married Billy Joe Bean in Nowata, OK. Together they operated Swingin B Ranch in Coffeyville, KS. Lorene also co-owned Cattlemens Caf with her sister, Wanda. She enjoyed painting western scenes, drawing, and custom hay baling. She loved her animals, riding horses, and outdoor life. Survivors include her husband, Bill Bean, of the home; son, Jim Maritt and wife, Janet of Edna, KS; daughters Becky Stapleton and husband, Jay of Coffeyville and Joyce Fisher and husband, Roger of Coffeyville; mother, Velma Loomis of Coffeyville; sisters, Wanda Loomis of Coffeyville and Judy Roberts of Wichita; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence and two grandsons, Justin and Jacob Maritt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial will take place on her ranch. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening.
