Wilma Louise Smith age 88 formerly of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away on October 17, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
Louise was born April 19, 1933 in Tulsa, OK to James Fredrick and Minnie Belle (Pearson) Stimson. Louise was raised in Tulsa and attended local schools graduating from Tulsa Central with the class of 1952. After graduation she found employment with some of the downtown Tulsa department stores including S. H. Kress and Brown-Duncan. She rode the streetcar on the Sand Springs Line to downtown. Louise was attending the Bible Temple church in Tulsa when the pastor introduced her to his brother Ernest Smith, and the couple started courting each other and was united in marriage on May 10, 1959. To this union they were blessed with four sons. Louise found her life’s passion with raising and caring for her family’s needs. She loved baking and always had cookies or cake ready for the boys when they got home from school. She was a very talented musician, she played the piano, organ, accordion and sang. She enjoyed sewing and baking, and was devoted to praying and reading her Bible. Louise was a private person; she never wanted to be in the spotlight. She was very organized in the way she kept track of things she stored away for safekeeping for the family.
Louise’s memories will live on with her sons; Dale Smith and wife Susan of Tulsa, OK, Floyd Smith and wife Debbie of Coffeyville, KS, and Neal Smith of Pittsburg, KS, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She now rests with her parents, her husband Ernest, her son Marvin Smith, brothers; Nolen, James, Billy, Marien, Orvil (Sonny), and Danny, sisters; Elsie and Clara Lou.
