Louise Stills

Louise Stills passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, KS. She was born  November 29, 1926 in West Mineral Kansas to Bernard T McCormick and Flossie McCormick. She married Clyde Lewis (Bud) Stills in Coffeyville, KS. He passed away in April 25, 1984. They had one son, Clyde Ellis Stills in 1950. He passed away in 2017.

In 1990 she began a relationship with George Chronister. He survives her in their home.
Louise, also known as Tarzan or Tarz was an avid collector and restorer of antique furniture. She purchased items from as far away as Venice, Italy. She is well known by auctioneers from the surrounding 6-7 states. She created a palace in every home she lived in, including her small home on 11th where she spent most of her life and raised her son. She ruled over each of her subsequent homes with equal care, always creating something to add beauty to the space. She painted, did stained glass, and sewed, but always came back to her beautiful furniture re-caning pieces that needed it, refinishing wood that needed attention, and even hand painting owls or flowers on some of her favorite pieces. She and George traveled to Europe in 1991 and made a trip to Natchez, Mississippi and New Orleans in the 1990’s as well.  For many years they had a condo in Branson where they made many friends.

Louise was a wonderful Grandmother and Great-grandmother, always remembering the kids activities and birthdays. She would send beautiful notes and cards into their adulthood commemorating special events.

Her spunk and sass and fashion sense will be missed by many, however there will not be a funeral service at this time. The family will plan a private service at a later date. To share a memory or to leave a message of condolence, please visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com.
