Lucille Richey

Lucille Richey, 94, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with her lord and savior Monday, November 21, 2011 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. Lucille was born on September 20, 1917 in rural Cedar Vale, Kansas to Frank and Mary West Brockman. She grew up in Chautauqua, Kansas where she attended local schools. On December 18, 1935 she was united in marriage to Earl Edger Richey in Sedan, Kansas the couple made their home in Caney, Kansas until they moved to Coffeyville in 1942. Lucille spent her time as a home maker, caring for her family. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of rural Coffeyville. Lucille often attended services at Childers Community Church in more recent years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, old western movies and spent most of her time running the kids around to numerous activities. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Sam Richey and wife Barb of South Coffeyville, OK, Mary Ann Shufeldt of Coffeyville, KS, Earline M. Haley of Bartlesville, OK, Carol Jean Lacey also of Bartlesville, OK, Betty Pope of Shawnee, OK 19 grandchildren, 42 greatgrandchildren and 20 greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary loving husband, Earl grandsons, Terry and Tom Richey a greatgranddaughter a greatgreat grandson brothers, Jesse, Cecil and Jack Brockman and sisters, Era Bonesteel and Anna Land. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until Noon to sign the guest register at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorial contribution can be made to the Central Baptist Church or the Childers Community Church, these may be left with the funeral home.
