Luin was born in Calvin, Oklahoma on January 6, 1926 to Charlie Thomas and Jenny Mae Short Cook. Military info: He joined the United States Navy and served during WWII in the South Pacific where he reached the rank of BM2c. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and then later joined The Army of the United States and served in Japan. On January 1, 1949 he married Betty Jane Hickcox in Wichita, Kansas. She preceded him in death October 4, 1992. Mr. Cook was a owneroperator in the Dry Wall and Finishing Business. Memberships: He was a member of Post 1022 VFW and Post 20 American Legion both of Coffeyville. Survivors include: 4 sons, Stephen Cook Vicki Stockbridge, Georgia, Donald Linda, Larry Chris, Mark Cook Beth all of Wichita, Kansas. Grandchildren 7, Great Grandchildren 11. Sister-in-law, Norma Derringer, Coffeyville, KS. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and there will not be any Services.
