Lula Belle Trotter age 76 of Coffeyville passed away on May 10, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Lula was born in Ketchum, OK on December 12, 1943 to William and Johnnie (Lawson) Colvin. She was raised in Ketchum and attended local schools graduating from high school there. After high school she began working as nurse’s aide at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita. It was during this time she met Roy Trotter, the couple was united in marriage in October of 1963. The couple made Coffeyville their home and welcomed three sons and a daughter, they later divorced. Lula began babysitting and was given the name Mama Lou, she welcomed many children through her doors over the years. She then found employment with Western Publishing, working there from their first days until the company moved. She then went back to her roots as an aide working for Comforting Angels and she was still currently helping others. Mama Lou enjoyed sewing, cooking, and could bake some of the best pies around. She loved having someone to help or to take care of, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was most fulfilled when she was needed and that is what made her the most special mother, grandmother, and Mama Lou.
Lula’s memories will live on with her children, Rick Trotter his wife Tammy, Rhonda Trotter, Randy Trotter his wife Jessica, sister, Bonnie Lair her husband Ben, grandchildren, Brett Trotter his wife Nikki, Tiffany Trotter, Amanda Mills her husband Billy, Drue Banzet, Jerry Banzet his wife Carolina, and Derik Trotter, and 14 great-grandchildren.
