Mahalia Mae Mandy Weingart 1919-2005 Mahalia M. Weingart, age 86, of Independence, Kansas passed away Thursday morning, June 16, following a lengthy illness at the Heatherwood Estate in Independence. She was born January 30, 1919 in Vian, Oklahoma the daughter of Jeff and Linda Jackson of Dearing, Kansas. She married Charles Weingart on June 21, 1941 in Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1989. Mae lived all her life in Dearing, Kansas. She retired from the United Meatcutters Association and Automotive Controls Cooperation. She was a member of Dearing Christian Church and a life member of Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1186. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Don Patty Kendrick of Independence, Kansas and June Stonecipher McKim and husband Ken of Anderson, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday June 18, 2005 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19 with the family receiving friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may contact the family at the Don Kendrick residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Burial will follow at the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Heatherwood Activity Fund or the Alzheimers Association.
