Malone Watts

D. Malone Watts, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008. Malone was born on April 10, 1915 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harry and Ora M. Puckett Hibbert. She attended schools in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Niotaze, Kansas and moved to Coffeyville in 1932. She and Oral P. Watts were united in marriage on July 3, 1935 in Coffeyville. Malone lived in Coffeyville until 3 years ago when she moved to Tulsa to be with her daughter. Malone worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and in restaurants, but was always a home maker. She was known for her cooking, especially her baking of bread and delicious deserts. Malone was an active member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and was the founder of the Antique Telephone Collectors Association in 1971. Surviving to honor her memory are her daughter, Delores Adib-Yazdi and husband, Amir of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Richard Watts Katja, Kaveh Adib-Yazdi, Marjan Adib-Yazdi, Jimmy Watts, Charles Watts, Michael Watts Eva, David Watts, Patsy Sego Chris, and Cathy Watts; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Goad and husband, the Rev. Dick Goad; brother, Clarence Hibbert; brother-in-law, Leonard Powell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oral, and son, Phillip Leon Watts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may call on Thursday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
