Margie Ann Buster, age 78 passed away with her daughter by her side in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Ascension St. John’s Medical Center on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
Margie was born on May 3, 1946 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Thomas William and Florence Anita Margorie (Eppler) Head. Margie attended Coffeyville schools with her two siblings Paul and Linda. In 1964 she graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School.
On July 6, 1969 Margie married the love of her life Larry Buster, together they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their only daughter Anita. When Anita was a young child Margie worked for a short while at Funk Manufacturing. She later worked for USD 446 Food Service serving lunch to the students and then worked for a number of years for Senior Services in food services. Margie ended her working career in the food service industry at CRMC in the dietary department, continuing to make sure meals were served with a warm smile. Margie brought Matthew 25:35,40 to life in her years of dedication to others. "For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink".
When Anita was young Margie was active in PTA and was even a Girl Scout Leader of the troop Anita was in. Margie loved Anita and was very proud of her accomplishments. She adored her grandchildren Alekzander, Simon and Abby, they were the apple of her eye.
Margie enjoyed crafting and watching Hallmark movies. She was often found serving at First Southern Baptist Church in either the kitchen serving families who have experienced a loss of a family member, working in the children’s department, or attending the weekly woman’s Bible study.
Margie’s faith her Savior Christ Jesus was apparent in the way she lived her life and loved others.
Margie is survived by her daughter Anita Carr and husband Tim, grandchildren Alekzander, Simon and Abby Carr and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry and siblings Paul and Linda.
Funeral services celebrating Margie’s life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 2-4pm.
