Coffeyville resident Marguerite A. Jarrett entered into rest on Friday, April 6, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 92. Marguerite was born August 10, 1914 to Douglas and Inez C. Shirley Blick-Hadsell. She was raised by her mother and step-father Charles Hadsell. She attended schools in Coffeyville and was a member of the first graduating class from Field Kindley High School in 1932. On October 12, 1932, she married Ryder L. Frosty Jarrett. Marguerite was a member of the First Christian Church for more than fifty years. She also enjoyed her memberships in the BPW, Book Review Club, Westside Workers E.H.D. and Idyl Hour. While her children were in school, she was an active member of the P.T.A. receiving a lifetime membership. She taught cooking classes for the 4H Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Marguerite worked for several years as a cook for West Coffeyville School, the Dearing School and USD 445. She loved spending time with her family as well as painting, quilting, ceramics and many crafts. She was very active in activities during her stay at Winsor Place. She is survived by her children Bobby L. Jarrett of Littleton, Co.; James and wife Nancy Jarrett of Shawnee, Kansas; Charlotte and husband Jim Ward of Tyler, Texas. There are seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ryder L. Frosty Jarrett and a sister Mary Smalley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday April 10, 2007 in the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate and burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 am at the funeral home.
