Marian Newby

Marian Allene Newby, 82, Coffeyville, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. Marian was born March 26, 1928 in Coffeyville, KS to Vernie and Viola Mae Coy. She grew up and attended school in Coffeyville. She married James Wesley Newby on September 4, 1943. She is survived by her husband and son, James Michael Newby of Westminster, Colorado, four sisters, June Benson of Vancouver, WA, Deane Larkin of Cheyenne, WY, Anita Kay Thigpin of Mobile, AL, and Cheryl Pomerenke of Webb City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents sister, Dorothy Kennedy of Coffeyville brother, Vernon Dale Coy of Neodesha, KS and son, Mark Douglas Newby of Meridian, ID. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Evangelist David Bycroft will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family request that flowers not be sent, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
