Mark Taylor, Coffeyville, KS, passed away at his home Thursday, December 18, 2008. He was 53 years old. Mark was born November 20, 1955 at Oxnard, California to Charles Raymond Taylor and Elinor Magdaline Spriesterbach Taylor. He grew up in Ventura, California and attended Will Rogers Elementary and Jr. High, there. The Taylor family moved to rural Independence, Kansas in 1973. Mark has been a resident of Coffeyville since the late 1990s. Mark loved to paint and read and enjoyed playing basketball and video games. He always had a smile on his face; always said hi and had a passion for meeting people. Mark was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church of Coffeyville and a member of Holy Name Faith amp; Light. Mark is survived by his dad, Charles, of the home; by two sisters, Carol Taylor of Ventura, California and Deborah L. Martin and her husband, Bill of Coffeyville; his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Amanda and Jessica Martin and Steve Cole and Suzanne Marshall and three great-nieces and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elinor, on June18, 2002. A rosary service will be held 6 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 at Holy Name Church and Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, also at Holy Name Church. Interment will be in Coffeyvilles Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, Monday, 9am - 5pm and the family suggests those who wish may donate to the Holy Name Faith amp; Light group in honor of Mark.
