Marsha Dianne Adinolfi was born on August 2, 1943 to Robert EarlJack Orsbern and Gladys Lucille Roeser in Manhattan, Kansas. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Claude and Amanda Magnolia Orsbern, in Manhattan after her parents divorced. She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1961 and attended the Colorado Womens College CWC in Denver for a year and a half. There she met cadet Jerry Adinolfi at the U.S. Air force Academy in Colorado Springs and they were married at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Manhattan, Kansas on June 8, 1963. Marsha followed Jerry in his 30year Air Force career throughout the continental United States and overseas as a homemaker and Air Force wife. She continued serving as a Pastors wife for 14 years when Jerry became an Episcopal priest following retirement from the Air Force. She had two children, Marcus Adinolfi of Overland Park, Kansas who was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1965 and Christina Aldrich of Coffeyville, Kansas who was born in Agana, Guam. In turn, she has seven grandchildren: Domenick and Sofia Adinolfi Andrew and Kristin Stanley and Anthony Aldrich and Stephen and Nicholas Erickson through Marks second marriage. She leaves her husband of 46 years, Father Jerry Adinolfi of Coffeyville daughter Tina Aldrich and her two sons Andrew and Tony of Coffeyville and daughter Kristin of Parsons son Mark Adinolfi and wife Karen and his son Domenick and daughter Sofia, and her sons Stephen and Nickolas, all of Overland Park a half sister, Leslie Thomas of Manhattan and her family a cousin Kristin Markel of Dodge City and her husband Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Orsbern and Gladys Thomas, her stepparents Helen Orsbern and Walter Thomas, a halfbrother John Thomas, her brotherinlaw John Adinolfi, her mother and fatherinlaw Rose and Jerry Adinolfi, and her Aunt Helen Guertner and husband Gene of Dodge City. Marsha spent most of her adult life as a paraplegic in a wheelchair as a result of Tuberculosis Meningitis in 1964, yet this did not deter her from living a full and happy life. Marsha loved to water color and completed a wonderful series of Native Americans paintings that are proudly displayed at the Coffeyville Title and Abstract Company at the corner of 8th and Maple. She was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville and for years sung in choirs at various Episcopal and Air Force base chapels where she also taught Sunday school classes. Marsha loved to cook in later years and was a solid fan of TVs Iron Chef. She had tons of cookbooks at home, some with her own recipes. Marsha enjoyed playing cards with her friends and also worked with the Bluebirds, Brownies, and Girl Scouts when Tina was young. She loved the two cruises she went on in the eastern and western Caribbean. Memorial gifts may be sent in her name to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 613 Elm Street, Coffeyville, KS 67337. Marsha has been cremated and a service of the Burial Office Rite II with Holy Communion will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. The Rt. Rev. Dean Elliott Wolfe, Bishop of Kansas, will officiate and preach the homily. The committal will be held at the Veterans Pavilion immediately following the service. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith.
